Resident Privileges Policy

At Mehar Foundation, we grant standard privileges – including phone usage, outings, ordering food, home visits, solo walks or jogs and smoking in designated areas – to every resident upon admission. These privileges serve as immediate encouragement and a reward for your willingness to quit alcohol and drugs and embark on your recovery journey.

However, holding onto these privileges requires ongoing effort and responsibility. Throughout your stay, your privileges will be continuously evaluated and may be increased, reduced or revoked based on your daily choices, behaviour and overall engagement in the recovery program.

Maintaining and advancing your privileges depends directly on:

  • Treating staff, peers and fellow residents with LOVE, RESPECT AND DIGNITY above all else.
  • Honesty and consistency in your daily routine and interactions.
  • Respect for community norms, program guidelines and personal cleanliness.
  • Active commitment to recovery, demonstrated through participation in daily chores, cleanliness, step work and gym routines.

We absolutely insist on enjoying life.

May God bless us all as we walk this path together.
